May 6, 2021:
In the US, iHeartMedia has launched its own Private Marketplace, allowing advertisers to buy shows across the iHeartPodcast Network. Using Voxnest, it allows geo-targeting and "psychographic" targeting (only want "intrepid" listeners? Or "conquerors"?) We wonder if it can also target people who've had their first COVID-19 vaccination and are feeling a bit sleept.

February 26, 2021:
Conal Byrne becomes CEO of the iHeartMedia Digital Audio Group, and Darren Davis will serve as COO. This unit includes the apps and websites, podcasts, Voxnest, and will also include Triton Digital.

June 12, 2020:
Some podcast download numbers might be incorrect: and could be 5% too large, according to The New Media Show. If you use Apple Podcasts and own an Apple Watch, your watch automatically downloads duplicate copies of shows you're subscribed to when it's charging - which could be as much as 5% of a podcast's total downloads. According to the podcast, Libsyn already marks these additional downloads as duplicates, but many podcast hosts may not be doing so. In October 2018, Voxnest published that 9.4% of all downloads were to an Apple Watch.

May 1, 2020:
Spotify's continuing to increase its hold on podcasting. In February, Spotify was more popular than Apple for podcasts in Apple's home state of California, according to new data from Voxnest. Spotify's also continuing to overtake Apple in many countries, including Ireland and Australia, according to the data.
April 23, 2020:
Voxnest have released an update on COVID-19 podcast listening across their network. The main claim is that global podcast listens are "up by 42%", a comparison to listening in the first week of January, a time when many people, especially in Europe, were on holiday. The graphs appear to show that all territories have increased since the end of March; and that categories around peoples' "hobbies and passions" are doing well; the company does note that, as a whole, US podcast listens are down by over 20%, however.

April 8, 2020:
Audioboom's revenue for the first three months of this year was up by 40% from the same time last year, according to a trading update. The US$4m secured loan that the company obtained (Feb 13) wasn't used. The company has also started using Voxnest's IAB-certified measurement.

Spreaker's analytics are now using an IAB Certified analytics platform. The change occurred on Monday: the company now uses the platform also used by Voxnest's Audience Network, which achieved IAB Certification in May. Confusingly, Spreaker had been announced as IAB Certified in the final Spreaker Live Show, but this was, we discover, not actually correct. Spreaker customers will see significant changes to analytics, as the company trailed earlier this month.
