• ListenNotes have launched something new and clever - realtime podcast listening: the podcast episodes being listened via Listen Notes right now.

• Danielle Emans and Geert van de Wetering explain how they earn money from podcasting in the latest Podpraat newsletter (in Dutch) - five different ways.

• Podcast host Megaphone has told its customers that the company now has a “passthrough agreement” in place with Spotify. This means dynamic ads and metrics should work within Megaphone as they do for other platforms (and Spotify will no longer cache those podcasts).

• Simplecast is in the process of attaining IAB Certification. They join Voxnest/Spreaker, Megaphone, Libsyn, Omny Studio, and ART19. With Blubrry and NPR having already achieved it, that’s over a quarter of a million dollars that the IAB has earnt so far from certification. Cough

• “If You’re Going To Use Your Podcast For Business Reasons, Treat It Like A Business”, advises Cary Green.

• The Financial Times writes an excited post about 2018 in podcasting, which sadly languishes behind their paywall. (One shouldn’t underestimate the type of people who read the FT, though).

Musician Bhi Bhiman is releasing his latest album as a podcast. Peace of Mind is “thick with timely social commentary and needs the kind of unpacking that a deep-dive podcast provides”, and will be released on January 18th. (Critical Frequency/Libsyn)

Brisbane-based Head Ovary Heels has just posted a new mini-season for the holiday period, including interviews with photographer Luisa Brimble, actress Shuang Hu and writer Louisa Deasey.

Audio company TASCAM has a fortnightly podcast, called TASCAM Talkback, and tomorrow will launch a Facebook group for podcasters.
