  • Some podcast download numbers might be incorrect: and could be 5% too large, according to The New Media Show. If you use Apple Podcasts and own an Apple Watch, your watch automatically downloads duplicate copies of shows you’re subscribed to when it’s charging - which could be as much as 5% of a podcast’s total downloads. According to the podcast, Libsyn already marks these additional downloads as duplicates, but many podcast hosts may not be doing so. In October 2018, Voxnest published that 9.4% of all downloads were to an Apple Watch.

  • Podcast network Lemonada Media has announced that it has raised US$1.38m in a seed funding round. It currently has 700,000 listens across its network per month.

  • For MacOS users, Blackhole is a free, modern alternative to Soundflower, allowing you to pass audio to different applications on your system. Soundflower was last updated more than a year ago.

  • Podbible is a free printed magazine available in the UK, and visible online everywhere, focusing on podcasts. The new edition, out now, features Stephen Fry, who released his first podcast in 2008.

We’ve never met Chachi though.
