June 20, 2023:
On our story on Meghan Markle's Archetypes, which was produced by Archewell and Gimlet: Andy Scott, a former Gimlet staffer, tweets: "We did occasionally have producers do interviews, though never the main ones, and we never edited her asking questions into interviews that producers conducted."
June 19, 2023:
Archewell, the podcast company owned by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, will not have its contract renewed with Spotify. The decision was mutual, according to a statement. However, speaking on his podcast, Bill Simmons (who is a senior Spotify podcast executive) called them "fucking grifters".
December 6, 2022:
At Harry and Meghan's company Archewell, the Head of Audio Rebecca Sananès is reported to have resigned. In October, she'd posted on Instagram: "The podcast industry is severely undervaluing and under crediting the INCREDIBLY talented and hardworking producers and sound engineers behind your favorite shows."

Harry and Meghan's Archewell Audio is getting ready to launch a new show on Spotify: and given some clues as to why there have been delays. A spokesperson for Archewell Audio has told Podnews that they've been having conversations with Spotify about trust and safety, minimising the spread of misinformation and supporting transparency. They've had a number of meetings with the company - including their senior leadership - stressing a responsibility for quality, fact-based information, especially around mental health. Those meetings appear to have gone well; and so Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, is now on track to launch her first podcast series this summer.

January 27, 2022:
The Sun claims an exclusive that Spotify is to take Harry and Meghan's $25m podcast project "into their own hands" by hiring a host of in-house producers to "finally deliver their content". Their source appears to be this job posting at Gimlet, which says "we’re currently assembling a show team that will build and launch a new original show with Archewell featuring the voices of high profile women" (not sure that's Harry). In July, Archewell hired Rebecca Sananes as Head of Audio, reporting to Ben Browning, Archewell's Head of Content. Content from Archewell was promised in 2021, but it's not the only missing Spotify show.
