- Mar 13: More Americans are listening to podcasts every month than ever before, according to The Infinite Dial 2026 from Edison Research at SSRS. The research, with support from SiriusXM Media, was released yesterday afternoon and co-presented by VP Megan Lazovick and Editor of Podnews, James Cridland. It also shows the significant growth of online audio for Americans age 55+. You can watch the full presentation and download all the slides here.
- Mar 6: Exclusive: SiriusXM has brought NBA news show The Deep 3 and NFL show House Call to the SiriusXM Media network, for ad sales and distribution. The agreement covers both short-form and long-form video and audio episodes, and SiriusXM subscribers will also get the show ad-free.
- Feb 27: There will be more data about podcasting next month, with the publication of The Infinite Dial® 2026, with support from SiriusXM Media. The gold standard of research on podcast consumption, the new data will be unveiled by Megan Lazovick, VP of Edison Research at SSRS, in a free webinar on Mar 12. She’ll be joined by our Editor, James Cridland.
- Feb 10: Back in December 2021, the National Association for the Deaf took SiriusXM to court for not providing transcripts in its app. The legal action is still going on - the latest is that we'll hear nothing until April this year. In the meantime, a standard for transcripts in podcast content has been produced; transcripts have been put live in Apple Podcasts, in Pocket Casts and in Spotify, and SiriusXM released a new app with transcription. It's our opinion that while the original court action was clearly instrumental in moving our industry forward, it would appear that the only people benefitting from this ongoing legal action are the lawyers.
- Jan 16: PodcastOne renewed The Adam Carolla Show for a multiyear extension. The show will now be available on the Megyn Kelly channel on SiriusXM. The show, which recently celebrated its 4,000th episode, has had over 700 million downloads.
