The Diary of a CEO is to hit the big screen - a special episode with former One Direction member Louis Tomlinson will get a world exclusive premier in six selected Cineworld cinemas in the UK and Ireland on Oct 8, a day before the podcast’s general release. Tickets are £14.99 (US$20) each. (The website appears to only work in Europe).

Podcast cross-promotion company PodRoll has launched PodRoll Video Promos in Apple Podcasts - a way to add video promos as the second item in a podcast feed to help promote shows. It takes advantage of Apple’s support of video downloads. There’s an example here.

SXSW Sydney has announced two dedicated stages for podcasting at the event, which takes place in mid October. There will be a number of live shows, and “Show Notes”, a podcast industry stage. (Podnews’s Editor will be there on Thursday).
- Meanwhile, at Advertising Week NYC next week, Paul Riismandel from Signal Hill Insights will be speaking, revealing whether podcasts really influence voters, as we move into a year with mid-terms in the US.

AI-powered audio and video platform Castmagic has acquired Flowsend, an AI tool that transforms audio and video into written assets. Terms weren’t given.

Free training for podcast and audio professionals has been made available by Audiotrain from AudioUK in partnership with the BBC. The platform contains a wide range of on-demand courses, available for free to anyone in the world. Among the 19 courses currently available: “YouTube for Podcasts”, “Negotiating like a pro”, and “Social Media for podcasts”.

Livewire published its podcast hosts by episode share data for September, based on all 1.5 million episodes published that month. At #2, Spreaker jumped from 15.2% to a record 17.1% (they’re the company Inception Point AI uses for its wholly AI-generated shows); the #3 Buzzsprout saw a record share of 10%. Simplecast (#6), RSS
.com (#7), Transistor (#9) and Captivate (#10) are also sitting on record highs. However elsewhere in the top ten, heritage brands Podbean (#4) and Libsyn (#8) posted their lowest-ever numbers. -
Personalised audio advertising company AMA has launched Location AI, an ad stack designed to deliver personalized, moment-aware audio advertising - “creating uniquely relevant experiences based on who the listener is, where they are, and what they’re doing.”

SiriusXM has unveiled a month of live podcast events in “Podcasts Month”. SiriusXM subscribers will be able to see shows being recorded live in either New York or Los Angeles.

Sports podcast network Crowd Network is celebrating a record summer, including the successful launch of new shows.

Manchester-based Audio Always has added four new podcasts to its slate; moved offices to MediaCity UK; announced a new leadership team; and launched three new visual studios for podcasting and audiobooks.
