An award we won in 2018!

Why you should be thankful for winning awards

playListen · · 2.4 minutes to read
  • Thank you to the folks at Sounds Profitable and The Podglomerate, who will be hosting a free webinar on strategic podcast awards budgeting on Dec 11. The webinar will talk about the benefits of awards, including enhanced visibility, increased credibility, and expanded monetization opportunities - and why you ought to budget for entering them.

  • Be grateful for iOS 26.2, a free upgrade hitting your iPhone in December (Dec 9-16 ish) which adds automatic chapters for every podcast in Apple Podcasts (which you can opt-out of by making your own) - and timed links to other podcasts you mention on your show. The latest version of the beta was released last week.

  • Thank the Podcast Movement team, who are paying for speakers next year. The event is looking for ten-minute talks for Podcast Movement Evolutions at SXSW. All speakers will get a $500 honorarium in addition to entry into the event. You’ve until the end of this year to get your pitches in.

  • Thank PodcastOne for publishing financial guidance for investors, which contains helpful overviews of the market, and of their strategy next year.

  • Thank you for giving our daily podcast a five-star review.

  • And thank Canada for maple syrup, peanut butter, and insulin. In the country, The Podcast Exchange has been acquired by Native Touch, an independent digital media advertising company focused on mobile ads. Terms weren’t given. TPX filed a Notice of Intention under the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act in July; its third extension on Oct 28 noted that it had received a number of offers, including three where NDAs were signed. The judge overseeing the process praised TPX for acting in good faith throughout, and that the process was conducted with “integrity and fairness”. The country celebrated Thanksgiving last month, but we’ll thank the judge anyway.

And thank you for supporting Podnews this year - all our personal supporters, silver and gold supporters, and our many sponsors and partners. We wouldn’t be here without you.

Happy Thanksgiving! We’re back tomorrow as usual.

Podnews has a 50% business partnership with Podcast Movement and Sounds Profitable, who are in our news stories today.
