Thüringen 2024 - Was wäre, wenn?
Wenn Thüringen im kommenden Herbst wählt, könnte dabei eine autoritär-populistische Regierung an die Macht kommen, deren Absicht der langsame Abbau der demokratischen Institutionen und Mechanismen ist. Welche Möglichkeiten hat so eine Regierung und wer kann sie stoppen?
Vorbilder gibt es genügend: Wir kennen die Strategien von unseren polnischen Nachbarn, aus Ungarn oder der Türkei, wo PiS, Fidesz und die AKP Gesetze und Kontrollgremien ausgehöhlt haben – mit dem Ziel, eine autoritäre Staatsführung oder sogar eine Diktatur zu ermöglichen.
Wir wollen wissen: Wie verwundbar ist die Thüringer Verfassungsordnung? Welche Optionen haben demokratische Kräfte, um gemeinsam die Demokratie zu beschützen – selbst wenn eine autoritäre Regierung an die Macht kommt?
Dazu sprechen wir mit Expertinnen und Experten aus Wissenschaft, Journalismus und der Zivilgesellschaft.
Am Ende soll klar werden: Der Weg in den autoritären Staat ist nicht schicksalhaft, sondern das Resultat des Handelns verschiedener Akteure – von denen nicht alle mutwillig 'böse’ handeln.
