The Wide Open Road
The Wide Open Road podcast series shares the stories of retired professional athletes about their own career transition journeys to help current athletes prepare for the road in front of them for life after sport.
When professional sporting careers come to an end a whole new personal journey begins and for many athletes life after sport is filled with fear, self-doubt and uncertainty. And these fears can lead to disastrous consequences. Alcohol and drug abuse, domestic violence, marriage breakdown and suicide.
The Wide Open Road podcast series is a resource dedicated to helping current athletes prepare for life after sport by using the experiences of those that came before them in a format that is conversational, informal and informative.
