- Jul 9: YouTube is now the most popular service used for podcast consumption in the UK - two years after YouTube edged out Spotify in the US for the first time. Apple Podcasts is the fourth most popular in the country, after BBC Sounds, the corporation's proprietary app. The data is from Edison Research at SSRS, who present The UK Podcast Consumer 2026 in a free webinar on Jul 16.

- Jun 16: Exclusive: New data released by Edison Research at SSRS today shows that Americans are spending almost four times longer with podcasts than they were ten years ago. This year, Americans are now spending 812 million hours each week consuming podcasts. That's a 5% increase in the total time spent with podcasting in just twelve months, and shows that podcasting has grown almost four times bigger for Americans over the last decade. It's the second year that we've worked with Edison Research to discover the real size of podcasting - and how it continues to grow.
- Jun 15: In Australia, The Infinite Dial 2026 was released by Edison Research at SSRS and Commmercial Radio & Audio. 55% of Australians consumed a podcast in the last month (the US figure is 58%); 45% in the last week (on par with the US).
- Jun 4: The Edison Research Podcast Consumer 2026 was released in a webinar. The data shows that a majority of podcast consumers think that AI is a threat to the credibility, creativity and quality of podcasts; and 75% disapprove of a voice hosted by AI. Using data from Sports Poll by SSRS, we also discover that US podcast consumers are more interested in the World Cup (55%) than the population as a whole (47%).
