- Oct 20: Edison Research released the Top 50 Podcasts in the US for Q3 2025, from Edison Podcast Metrics. The survey-based data lists all shows and was continuously collected in July, August and September. The Charlie Kirk Show jumped to #17, while The Meidas Touch Podcast also entered the top 20 for the first time.
- Oct 16: Edison Research has been acquired by market and survey research firm SSRS. The acquisition includes the entire Edison Research team. Edison’s Larry Rosin describes SSRS as “a great and extremely like-minded research company”, which “shares Edison’s commitment to research rigor and great people”.
- Oct 9: Podcast listening is highest between 10am-2pm, according to new data from Edison Research. Breakfast time isn’t too far behind, however. The data also says that Americans age 13+ spend 10% of their total daily audio time listening to podcasts.
- Aug 27: The top 25 shows in the UK was released by Edison Research Podcast Metrics. In the top 5, three shows are from Goalhanger. The list now includes people who only watch podcasts and never listen - beneficiaries of this include Diary of a CEO, the BBC’s Newscast (which is broadcast on TV), and Call Her Daddy.
- Aug 14: Podcasting has a smaller share of listening with Black Americans than the general US market, according to new data from Nielsen’s Audio Today 2025 report, quoting Edison Research’s Share of Ear. (You might remember that The Black Podcast Listener Report, last published in Feb 2023, suggested the number of Black Americans listening each month was higher than the general population; however, they don’t listen as often, hence these two slightly contradictory numbers).
