- Jul 18: Podcast Movement made its first keynote speaker announcements for Podcast Movement 2025 in Dallas, TX this August. Jack Davenport, co-founder of Goalhanger (above), the UK’s biggest independent podcaster, will give us his “lessons from across the pond”; Gabriel Soto from Edison Research will share what we know about podcasting’s new listeners; and Lauren Passell and Arielle Nissenblatt (who love our podcast) will speak about the best podcast growth tips.
- Jul 17: With exclusive data today from Edison Research, Podnews can reveal the massive - and growing - size of the US podcasting industry - and a suggestion for a new metric for podcasting to express its growth over the next twenty years. Metrics can demonstrate our size, or help us understand our revenue potential: this new metric, perhaps, helps us do both.
- Jul 14: Edison Research has announced a free webinar for the release of The Podcast Consumer 2025. The study uses data from the Infinite Dial, Share of Ear, and Edison Podcast Metrics. A key focus in the new report is the evolving definition of podcast “consumption,” exploring podcast viewing as well as listening.
- Jul 9: Triton Digital released its 2025 Canadian Podcast Report. The survey, including data from Signal Hill Insights, claims that monthly reach has hit 39% in the country - up 3%, but a very different number to the 50%+ figures reported by Edison Research in a number of other countries.
- Jun 27: Audio is bigger than video in New Zealand, says The Infinite Dial from Edison Research; and it marks the fourth country where the study has found that podcasts have hit the mainstream, with 55% New Zealanders consuming a podcast in the last month. Aotearoa also beats the US in radio listening.
