- Jun 16: Exclusive: New data released by Edison Research at SSRS today shows that Americans are spending almost four times longer with podcasts than they were ten years ago. This year, Americans are now spending 812 million hours each week consuming podcasts. That's a 5% increase in the total time spent with podcasting in just twelve months, and shows that podcasting has grown almost four times bigger for Americans over the last decade. It's the second year that we've worked with Edison Research to discover the real size of podcasting - and how it continues to grow.
- Jun 15: In Australia, The Infinite Dial 2026 was released by Edison Research at SSRS and Commmercial Radio & Audio. 55% of Australians consumed a podcast in the last month (the US figure is 58%); 45% in the last week (on par with the US).
- May 22: Edison Research at SSRS announced that The Podcast Consumer 2026 will be presented in a webinar on Wednesday, June 3 at 2pm ET.
- Apr 20: Edison Research at SSRS published the top 50 podcasts in the US for Q1/26. What effect has Netflix had on this chart? The Breakfast Club rose from 15 to 11; it's the clear leader on Netflix. The Bill Simmons podcast - removed in full from YouTube in favour of Netflix - has also risen from 49 to 42. The highest new entry is The Ramsey Show. Edison Podcast Metrics asks about podcasts, not about platforms - so will include shows wherever people consume them.
- Mar 25: Magellan AI has launched broadcast radio attribution for advertisers. Recent data from Edison Research at SSRS suggests that radio is listened-to more than 3x as long as podcasts in the US.
