How Podnews can help promote a podcast

· By · 1.9 minutes to read

So - perhaps you’re working for a podcast promotion company or a PR team to help promote a podcast. Or, perhaps you’re a podcast producer that also works with clients to help grow their shows.

Podnews can help you promote your clients shows. And here’s how it works.

Send us anything that’s newsworthy

We’ve a full page on how to submit a podcast to us, but the main details are:

  • Please give us a link to Apple Podcasts (so we get the right “Real Talk”)
  • Please clearly say when it will launch - we mention shows when people can listen to them
  • Please make sure it’s newsworthy (“my client has a podcast” isn’t)

Press releases and any editorial questions go to editor@podnews.net

Make sure it has a trailer

We promote trailers all over the place - in “play” buttons in some versions of our newsletter, and in our new podcast trailers podcast. Here are the stats on how it works - most shows get their trailers played 500 times or more.

Ensure that the podcast has a thing marked as a “trailer” in its podcast feed - there’s a special way in podcast hosts to mark trailers. We’ll automatically grab your trailer from the RSS feed.

All the above is free, but no guarantees

We don’t require any payment to cover a podcast. But then, we don’t guarantee any coverage either. We’ll cover shows we think the majority of our audience will find interesting - sometimes we’ve a lot of shows to cover, too, so sometimes we can’t cover yours.

Our paid options

We have an “Editorial Feature”, which allows you to promote a specific podcast, on one day, in a super clear way.

Examples are: a standard editorial feature, or a premium editorial feature.

It’s your copy, your artwork (in the case of the premium feature), and it goes right in the middle of the newsletter.

For podcast networks, you might consider sponsorship of our Podcast News section, which means you can choose shows to cover, every day, for a month. Here’s an example - it’s a great way to remind people about your network for an entire month.

There are many other ways to pay to promote your shows, or your client’s shows, with Podnews. Kristy would be happy to help with those: she’s at sales@podnews.net
