Trebble launches reliable AI podcast editing tool

Trebble has launched a new, “reliable AI editing tool”, called DeepCut. The tool can be personalised to specific podcasts; and can be given natural language instructions. An optional upgrade, Safe Cut, can be used to automatically make edits that sound natural. The company, which is more than twelve years old, has also had a makeover: a new logo and website.

Edison Research released the Top 50 Podcasts in the US for Q3 2025, from Edison Podcast Metrics. The survey-based data lists all shows and was continuously collected in July, August and September. The Charlie Kirk Show jumped to #17, while The Meidas Touch Podcast also entered the top 20 for the first time.

On social media, many users have claimed that Spotify is running ads for ICE, and have called for people to cancel subscriptions. Fact-checking platform Snopes says that ads for ICE recruitment are confirmed to be appearing on Spotify - and also on Google. The content does not violate Spotify’s advertising policies, according to a Spotify spokesperson; “users can mark any ad with a thumbs up or thumbs down to help manage their ads preferences.”

UK podcast production company Chalk + Blade is to close. The ten year-old company is winding down (with some launches still to come), and will have closed by the end of March.

In Saudi Arabia, the General Authority of Media Regulation has suspended a YouTube podcast. The host of “Miraya”, Mohammed Al-Saeed, appeared on the opposite end of a couch shared by an actress, Rana Jabran, covered by (separate) blankets. This was deemed inconsistent with public taste and media guidelines, according to a Times of India report, quoting a story in Al-Ain News. YouTube hosts have to apply for a Mawthooq license in the country.

Podnews podcast episode list pages now support the podcast:location tag for creators. One example of that is the episode list for our own Podnews Daily, which shows various recording locations. We support v2025 tags with OpenStreetMap IDs.

You can now edit our podcast pages. Editing is, right now, limited to adding YouTube podcast links: if you’re logged in, and we don’t have a link for that show, you’ll be asked to add them. (Although some of that relies on something that Amazon Web Services has just broken, so, there’s that.)
