Quasi-moons were documented on WNYC’s Radiolab last year, and in May, Radiolab and the International Astronomical Union launched a contest that would enable a Radiolab listener to name one of Earth’s quasi-moons. The winning name is Cardea, the Roman goddess of thresholds, transitional spaces, and, um, door hinges.
