PRX to distribute Condé Nast shows

  • Blubrry has published a new Statistics Report for January, including data from the Blubrry directory, and popular podcast apps. Unlike similar data from Buzzsprout and Libsyn, Spotify achieves less than 2% of all downloads and is not listed in the top podcast apps.

  • Ex of Spotify and Parcast, Max Cutler has written his podcast and industry predictions for 2024. “Layoffs and restructuring freed up talent eager to make their mark. Some of these brilliant minds will launch startups with the potential to be truly disruptive.”

  • Last September, we reported that Tenderfoot TV was suing Audacy’s Cadence13 for breach of contract. A joint statement was released yesterday, saying: “Tenderfoot and Audacy have reached an agreement. Their work together on some of the biggest podcast franchises in the space continued uninterrupted throughout the litigation period, and the companies look forward to continuing their successful partnership on future projects.” Terms weren’t given; the relationship lasts until 2026. Audacy has filed for bankruptcy.

  • PSA: if your podcast uses the Voxalyze prefix (it looks like a.pdcst.to), you must remove it before the end of January, otherwise your podcast will stop working. Check for an email titled [Action required] Remove your Voxalyze Tracking Prefix for more information. The company has announced it is ceasing this service and has filed for insolvency.
