Podtrac to measure sales networks

• Podtrac is to add a Sales Network Ranker report in Q3 this year, according to emails from ART19 to some of its customers.

  • A ranker already exists through Edison Podcast Metrics; SXM Media is #1. SXM aren’t measured by Podtrac, though.
  • Wondery Sales Network shows, including those on ART19's Targeted Audience Solution, will be part of this new Podtrac Sales Network Ranker. A Podtrac prefix will be added to these feeds automatically, unless creators opt out.

• Apple Podcasts has updated its Social Post Generator to help you showcase your podcast, channel, or if you’ve made the charts, on its platform. Here’s a link to the tool.

• UK podcast publisher Auddy has raised £2.5m (US $3m) in funding.

• Megaphone had some issues with delivering podcast audio for a short time on Monday.

• The winners of the Adweek Podcast of the Year Awards 2022 were announced.

• Blubrry has partnered with Descript to allow Descript users to publish their edited podcasts directly from the app. Blubrry joins Buzzsprout, Captivate, Castos, Hello audio, Podbean, Podcast·co and Transistor with this functionality. Blubrry publishing is also available directly from Hindenburg.

Moves and hires

• Richard Cooke has been hired by US broadcaster Sinclair Broadcast Group as its first “VP of Audio Programming” to focus on podcasting. He was with Cadence13 as VP of Programming and Development.

• Jeff Meyerson, the founder and host of the Software Engineering Daily podcast, passed away last month, it’s been announced.

Rap Radar - Interval Presents, the new in-house podcast network from Warner Music Group, has added hip-hop podcast Rap Radar to its portfolio.

Acast has signed FIVE, a football digital destination, to produce its first podcast. VIBE with FIVE will be presented by editor-in-chief Rio Ferdinand.
