Podcasting’s rural opportunity?

• People in rural areas of the US listen to podcasts for only half the time as those in urban areas, says data from Edison Research today. Rural listeners consume just as much audio as urban listeners: but only spend half as much time listening to podcasts.

• The British Podcast Awards are open for entries. The awards will take place on Sep 26; you’ve until May 9 to enter. This year you can also nominate a judge.

• AdLarge has launched a female podcast network. Named “the fwd. network”, it will benefit from a collaboration with audio tech platform Consumable, and will offer access to 250mn monthly audio impressions.

• Adelicious has signed a number of new established shows to its roster - joining the company’s representation of Diary of a CEO.
