The NAB Show, due to take place in Las Vegas NV in mid October, has been cancelled for a second year, after a number of major exhibitors pulled out. Citing the ongoing pandemic, NAB’s EVP of Events Chris Brown said: “It has become apparent in the face of these challenges that we can no longer effectively host NAB Show in person”. The exhibition was to have a podcasting section, and attracted 91,000 people in 2019.

Podcasting on Anchor? We’ve discovered a bug: they’re using outdated ISO 639:1988 language codes, which were changed in 1989 for Indonesian (“id”, not “in”), Hebrew (“he”, not “iw”), and Yiddish (“yi”, not “ji”) - so caution if you’re podcasting in Indonesia, the fourth most populous country in the world. The RSS specification calls for ISO 639-1 codes (“en”), or optional country subcodes used in the W3C’s standard (“en-GB”).
