Cadence13, an Audacy company and leading premium podcast studio, today announced that it has partnered with writer Elise Loehnen—former goop Chief Content Officer and co-host of the #1 hit series The goop Podcast—for Pulling The Thread, an in-depth interview podcast series on which she will explore the biggest questions of our time in conversation with cultural luminaries, thought leaders, scientists, theologians, doctors, and others.

On the weekly show, Loehnen and guests will delve into topics including how we can understand our own experiences within a larger spiritual and historical context, the ways in which we might begin to understand ourselves and each other better, and what’s required to heal ourselves and our world.

Pulling the Thread will launch on September 16, 2021, everywhere podcasts are available. New episodes will be available Thursdays. Listen to the trailer and follow the series here: https://link.chtbl.com/PTT_PR.

Loehnen will be joined by guests including Joy Harjo, 23rd Poet Laureate of the United States, and internationally renowned performer and writer of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation; Riane Eisler, social systems scientist and cultural historian; Elizabeth Lesser, bestselling author and the co-founder of Omega Institute; Loretta Ross, professor, activist, radical Black feminist; Jamie Wheal, Executive Director of the Flow Genome Project and Co-Author of the global bestseller Stealing Fire; and Olivia Laing, British writer, novelist and cultural critic.

“I’m excited to have the opportunity to create a forum for conversation with those who are well-equipped to help us understand ourselves better, particularly in the context of these times, when we are being asked to hold so much simultaneously,” said Elise Loehnen. “I hope these interviews offer a chance for deep, non-judgmental reflection as we contemplate our inner lives, our relationships, and our social structures. I’m also thrilled to do it in partnership with my friends at Cadence13, amongst so many other great storytellers.”

“Elise is a thoughtful and masterful interviewer whose curiosity, intelligence, and approach will make for fascinating conversations,” said Chris Corcoran, Chief Content Officer, Cadence13. “We’re thrilled to expand our powerful lineup of compelling content with ‘Pulling the Thread.’’

Elise Loehnen Fissmer is a writer and editor living in Los Angeles with her husband, Rob, and their sons, Max and Sam. While she’s co-written 11 books, including five New York Times Best Sellers, she’s currently writing the first book under her own name for Dial Press, an imprint of Penguin Random House. Previously, she was the chief content officer of goop, the lifestyle and e-commerce company established by Gwyneth Paltrow in 2008. While at goop, Elise co-hosted The goop Podcast and The goop Lab on Netflix, and led the brand’s content strategy and programming, including the launch of a magazine with Condé Nast and a book imprint. For the podcast, she interviewed 100s of thought leaders, doctors, and experts, including Ibram X Kendi, Bryan Stevenson, Nicholas Kristof, Ambassador Samantha Power, Rebecca Traister, John & Julie Gottman, among others.

Prior to goop, she was the editorial projects director of Conde Nast Traveler. Before Traveler, she was the editor at large and ultimately deputy editor of Lucky Magazine, where she also served as the on-air spokesperson, appearing regularly on shows like Today, E!, Good Morning America, and The Early Show. She has a B.A. from Yale and majored in English and Fine Arts; she also went to St. Paul’s School in Concord, New Hampshire. Before that, she attended a school where lunchtimes were spent jumping an irrigation ditch. Originally from Missoula, Montana, it’s important to her that people know that she went to the National Mathletes Championship when she was in 8th grade and that she’s a horse whisperer. These days, she spends her time writing, reading, consulting, and fundraising for causes and politicians focused on environmental action, social justice, women and children’s health, and a more equitable world.
