• Bob Garfield has been fired by New York Public Radio for apparently violating their anti-bullying policy. The co-host of On The Media, Garfield claims he was fired for “yelling in 5 meetings over 20 years”. He is taking legal advice.

• Digital Hollywood’s Podcast Content, Development and Programming session on Thursday includes QCODE’s Steve Wilson, formerly of Apple Podcasts - we’re told it might be the first time he’s spoken at a major conference. (Apple are famous for not engaging with our industry in that way).

• Bloomberg Media and iHeartMedia have signed a partnership for a slate of new podcasts

• Spanish publisher Unidad Editorial has signed with Triton Digital for the delivery, monetization, and measurement of its streaming audio and podcast content.

• The Asian Podcast Festival will take place on Sunday May 30.

• Amazon is reportedly in talks to buy MGM for $9bn.
