Libsyn are beta-testing “Libsyn 5”, the latest user interface for the podcast host. Customers can apply here to take part. The company also announced a distribution partnership with podcast app Player FM.

The new version of Overcast, an iOS app, has gone live. As Podnews started doing in January, the app shows podcast hosts and analytics companies like Podtrac and Chartable; and highlights privacy information.

In The Feed, Libsyn’s Rob Walch reports that Amazon Music’s new podcasts app out-performed Downcast, TuneIn Radio, Castro and other apps for downloads on their launch day. “I cannot remember anyone on their first day having the numbers that Amazon Music had,” he said.
