Goalhanger’s two-million listener live podcasts

Listen · · 4 minutes to read
  • How powerful are live podcasts? Goalhanger’s The Rest is Politics and The Rest is Politics: US both ran special live shows after the White House exchange between President Donald Trump and President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The live YouTube events, reposted in audio on podcast apps, have already delivered more than two million listeners and viewers in just four days, says Goalhanger. A social media clip has already gained another 1.6 million views.

    • Worth also mentioning that Podcasting 2.0 enables podcasts to broadcast live directly into podcast apps (with notifications when you go live, too).
  • iVoox has announced integration with Spotify Open Access. It allows podcasters to distribute their exclusive premium content to Spotify. The company’s advertising offerings are now also in Publiespaña’s commercial catalogue, making it easier for advertisers to find and book specific iVoox shows.

  • Over 50% of clicks from Linkfire led to podcast plays for Lemonada Media, according to a case study from the company. Nearly 70% of engaged listeners became followers of the show, the companies say.

The Podnews Report Card is open for one final week. We’d be really grateful for all podcast creators to take part. Thank you.
