  • Data: in Germany, the Online Audio Monitor 2021 has been released. 25% of Germans are listening to podcasts at least once a month, a figure that’s increased by 26% year-on-year. Spotify is the #1 podcast platform (48.5%), YouTube is #2 (44%), Apple Podcasts is #7 (12.5%), and Google Podcasts is #9 (9.5%). (Thanks, Steffen!)

  • Data: NZ On Air, the New Zealand government’s media funding service, has also released media consumption data. 13% of Kiwis listen to podcasts daily; it’s one of only two media types to have increased in the past year. (The other: on-demand video).

    • To compare that 13% daily figure with the German data, just 5.7% of Germans listen daily.
  • Last week, Clubhouse mentioned that there are 700,000 clubhouse rooms a day on the service. They’ve added that those rooms last 70 minutes on average.
