After Podnews highlighted Fireside Chat’s terms of service following its public launch at Podcast Movement, the company released updated terms late last week. The new terms (differences here) seek to clarify the 'General Media Release’ section about ownership of content, and one clause has been removed. We have reviewed Fireside’s new terms and conditions.

Podkite has added a way to embed the reviews for your podcast on your own website. That looks like an excellent podcast they’ve got a screengrab of.

JustCast has launched an embeddable podcast player, which supports chapters from the Podcast Namespace. A React component, it’s open source. We’ve added it to our embedded podcast players page.

Audio editor Ardour has released v6.9. Embarking on a significant rebuild, the developers warn to steer clear of the v7.0 nightly build for now.

Following up on our story last week about Apple Podcasts’s continuing bugs, podcast host Buzzsprout gives some advice to podcasters to promote alternatives to Apple Podcasts, “if you want to push your listeners to a different app so that they actually get your episodes when they come out”.

SOLVV is a new on-demand social podcasting app. In alpha, the app offers 15-minute shows, with an automated way to find panelists and post shows, which appear unavailable via RSS feed.

Writing in AdAge, Omri Argaman writes that “the early numbers and growth rate show that most consumers are passing on podcasts”. We’d gently suggest that podcasting has shown continuous growth since 2013, and now 116m Americans, or 41% of the country, listen to podcasts every month.
