Cadence13 has launched a new podcasting studio with a difference. C13Features will produce long-form single-episode podcasts, dubbed as “movies for the ears”.
- Cadence13 and Tenderfoot TV have also announced a new slate of podcasts including a new season of To Live And Die In LA.

Triton Digital has released its latest US Podcast Report. The top 5 podcast networks, unchanged in order, saw a 6% rise in downloads. WarnerMedia made its debut at #8, with 3.7m weekly downloads; the data includes participating publishers only (and doesn’t include iHeart nor ESPN).

ESPN have released a press release saying their podcasts are increasing in popularity. Blubrry’s analytics, according to the release, are 44.2m downloads; Podtrac says ESPN achieved 45.3m downloads for the same time period. Both companies are IAB Certified.

Google and PRX have launched a new round of the Google Podcasts Creator Program, including equipment, training, and a fund of up to $12,000. You’ve the month of July to apply.

After opening memberships on Monday, the first members of The Podcast Academy are being told they’ve been accepted (including our Editor). Rob Greenlee says that the organisation is working on a faster, more streamlined registration process, after some people report being deluged with requests to write letters of recommendation.

On Monday, Podnews asked “do we have a spam problem?”, noting that marketers are scraping podcast RSS feeds. Podmail·fm is a new service developed in response - fast work from developer Cohan Robinson. We’re aware of at least one other service being actively developed.

Podcast ad company True Native Media are in “hyper-growth”, they say, and have hired Laurel Earhart (Entravision Digital) to be VP of National Sponsorships, Kegan Munguia (PodcastOne) as National Account Manager, and promoted Gretchen George as VP of Podcast Operations and Campaign Management.
