In the UK, the winners of the Audio and Radio Industry Awards were announced in a ceremony in Leeds. Griefcast won best podcast; other podcasters were also awarded in other categories.

Next Radio, the ideas conference, have announced a new set of speakers including Sharon Taylor from Omny Studio talking about podcast monetisation and Susie Warhurst from Acast discussing branded podcasts. The conference is in central London on Sept 17, and also features Cariad Lloyd (Griefcast), and Suchandrika Chakrabarti (Black Mirror Cracked). (The Editor of Podnews is one of the organisers).

From New York NY, USA, Daddy-Less Issues is a 'hilariously dark' podcast which tackles the difficult issue of discussing parental loss in a 'brilliantly comedic way', and publishes a new episode on Tuesday. (Griefcast, a podcast covering a similar subject, won the British Podcast Awards earlier this year).

Next Radio, the radio and podcasting conference ("no panels, no suits") in the UK, has announced its first set of speakers. Podcasting is well represented, with Guardian podcaster Kary Stewart, Griefcast's Cariad Lloyd, and Suchandrika Chakrabarti from Black Mirror Cracked. Tickets are at an early-bird rate until the end of June. James Cridland, Editor of Podnews, is one of the organisers of Next Radio.
