Google Home outselling Amazon Echo

• Google Home is now outselling Amazon Echo devices, reports Gizmodo. Of course, Google Assistant is also present in many Android phones and even headphones. In Libsyn’s The Feed this week, Rob Walch mentions that the Google Assistant iPhone app is a good way to check whether Google’s properly indexed your podcast; and here’s how to get your podcast onto Google Home. (Oh, and “OK, Google, ask podnews for the latest” is a good thing to try, too).

• ‘A podcast beast just sitting there’: Podcasters want Google to counter Apple’s dominance, according to Digiday.

• Audioboom Studios announce their summer podcast slate: espionage and military operation stories in Covert, sci-fi sitcom Mission to Zyxx, organised crime history show Mafia, and jury drama Deliberations.

• Current report on kids podcasting - As Kids Podcasting Gains Ground, Producers Test Ideas For Live Shows - including coverage of a children’s podcast festival.

• British theatre show turned podcast, Stories to tell in the middle of the night has been announced; the nine-part podcast features “small stories, odd, true, funny and familiar that reflect the night hours themselves.”

• Drummer Brian Marchese’s Where’s That Sound Coming From? is a music podcast covering cover versions, says the Daily Hampshire Gazette.
