About Us
The Takeaway is a daily national news program focused on you. What you know and what you share helps to shape our daily discussion. You can hear us weekdays across America (check out our station map below - all times Monday through Friday unless otherwise indicated).
The Takeaway is driven by America’s national conversation — if a conversation connects or you have a valuable perspective, we want you to share your experience. These contributions help us deliver fresh insights and analysis on the day’s news.
Here’s how you can take part:
Facebook
Find us on Facebook to see our latest conversations in your NewsFeed. Check out some of our photo albums and videos, or comment on a discussion thread. You can also send a message to our inbox if there is a story you want us to cover.
Twitter
Follow us on Twitter @TheTakeaway to get updates from the program and our guests. Have a question about something you heard? Disagree with something you heard? Keep the debate going on Twitter. You can also follow our own Melissa Harris-Perry.
Instagram
Follow us on Instagram for BTS moments of the show
Email
Not into Twitter or Facebook? You can always reach The Takeaway by sending us an email at takeawaydigital@gmail.com.
Text
Sign up for The Takeaway’s listener response network by texting the word “START” to 70101. You will receive a daily question that will be featured on the next day’s show. We ask listeners in our response network to call in to our program and share their thoughts.
Standard data and messaging rates may apply. You can always text the word “STOP” at any time to opt-out.
Call Us
You can always contact us by calling us at 1-877-8-MY-TAKE. Each day, The Takeaway features the voices of listeners from around the country. Share your thoughts and opinions by leaving us a voicemail.
Our House Rules
If you’re taking part on air and or online, here are a few things you should know:
If you contact us in public—on Twitter or on our Facebook threads—we may read your comments out on the radio, along with the name and location you make public. We may also repost your comment online.
If you contact us in private—in the Facebook private inbox or via email—then we may read out your comment on air. If you don’t want your name, location or comment made public, please tell us and we will respect your wishes.
We monitor our public Facebook threads. If your comment has been deleted, we will be happy to explain to you why, if you message us to ask. Equally, if you feel a comment should be deleted but hasn’t been, please flag it to us by messaging us. We will either take action or explain to you why we feel the comment should remain.
On Twitter, we may retweet or repost one of your tweets on The Takeaway feed. If you text us, we may read your message and location on the air.
Thank you for taking part in The Takeaway.
The Takeaway is a partnership of global news leaders. It is a co-production of PRX and WNYC Radio in collaboration with WGBH-Boston Public Radio.
