The Ladies of Burdoo Springs

A fiction podcast from Louche Budgie Productions
Website: https://www.louchebudgie.com.au/

Welcome to Burdoo Springs. A mostly quiet, Australian country town, halfway between here and who cares where, in a time between then and sometime else.

Come for a visit and enjoy the rich tapestry of this small community as the locals prepare for one of the biggest events on the social calendar. The Burdoo Springs Country Ladies Union Farm Safety Fundraising Spring Gala Ball.

Let’s meet the eclectic collection of townsfolk.

Heather Blythe, the local doyen of style and etiquette, whose ongoing rivalry with her arch-nemesis Susan Smith-Smyth simmers just below the surface and threatens the rosy façade of Burdoo Springs.

Barry, the passionate radio station caller, who is not afraid to share his opinions on everything.

Trevor, the tractor collector and hot property among the more mature ladies of Burdoo Springs.

Jack, the young butcher and football star whose surprising secret threatens to leave him as an outcast in the town.

Carol, the long-suffering head of the Burdoo Springs Country Ladies Union Fundraising Sub-Committee who has a heart of gold and a recipe book from hell.

Jack’s sister Kate, dating one of the town’s more eligible bachelors, but is she happy with the status quo?

Join us as a mysterious phone call is set to shake up the town and the Ladies of Burdoo Springs will never be the same again!

We plan to release the first four episodes of our eight-episode series to gauge interest and motivate our massive editing task :)
