Roxanne en Maarten leiden twee heel verschillende levens. Wat ze gemeen hebben is dat insuline de benzine voor hun lijf is. Zonder het bijspuiten van insuline hebben ze geen leven; letterlijk! De ziekte heeft impact op alles dat je doet, én andersom.
In zes afleveringen bespreken Maarten en Roxanne situaties uit hun leven met diabetes type 1. En er is meer dan genoeg te bespreken want deze ziekte raakt écht alles: seks, drank en drugs, pubertijd en school, sport, afvallen, zwangerschap, acceptatie en onbegrip, werken en vakantie. Elke aflevering staat in het teken van een nieuw thema, er worden ingezonden vragen besproken én er schuiven spraakmakende gasten aan die elk op hun eigen, unieke manier met de ziekte te maken hebben. Denk aan professioneel kitesurfer Gijs Wassenaar, internist en wetenschapper prof. dr. Eelco de Koning en Kaylee van Buuren, die strijdt voor het behoud van haar militaire status. Verwacht eerlijke, open en ongecensureerde gesprekken!
