La Scomparsa: Emanuela Orlandi
È la mattina del 23 giugno quando un uomo, Mario Meneguzzi, gira per le redazioni dei giornali romani. Spiega ai cronisti che la nipote, Emanuela Orlandi, cittadina vaticana, è scomparsa dal giorno precedente e chiede che la notizia sia pubblicata. Massimo Lugli ha ventotto anni e da otto lavora a “Paese sera” prima di passare a “La Repubblica”. Si interessa a quella storia, parla con magistrati e poliziotti, si fa un’idea. Pochi giorni dopo, con l’appello di Giovanni Paolo II per la liberazione della quindicenne, nasce “Il caso Orlandi” ed Emanuela diventa la scomparsa più famosa d’Italia.
