A podcast dedicated to helping writers and DMs build interesting worlds without spending huge amounts of effort on the task. It releases one new hour-long episode per week and another 15-minute-long bonus episode on Patreon every week. I release the podcast at 3 am my time every Wednesday so it should be available for a commute.
Each episode covers one niche topic to show how you can build a world starting with only that topic as an idea. Each episode is made up of four segments: in Today’s Topic, I’ll go over the theme of the episode and why it matters. In Investigate the Implications, we’ll see how the topic affects other parts of the world. In Ponder the Presentation, I’ll show you how to present the topic so it appears deeply fleshed out even when it isn’t. And in Fantasy Forge, I’ll build a world starting with only the topic to prove it can easily and quickly be done.
I firmly believe that you can create an interesting world with only the tiniest of ideas and you can do it without spending hundreds of hours learning about real-world science, technology, politics, or anything else. Those things can definitely help, but they aren’t needed.

This podcast may use dynamic content insertion

Stats: Statistics are produced by Captivate and Podcorn to help Lazy Worldbuilding to understand how many downloads it is getting, or how many people are listening. Your device’s IP address and user agent is used to help calculate this figure. Captivate is IAB v2 certified. Here is more detail about podcast statistics.

Dynamic content insertion: Captivate may use limited data that they know about you - the device you’re using, the approximate location you’re in, or other data that can be derived from this, like the current weather forecast for your area - to change parts of the audio. Lazy Worldbuilding may do this for advertising or for other forms of content, like news stories.

Lazy Worldbuilding is able to use the above tools since its podcast host or measurement company offers this service. It doesn’t mean that this individual podcast uses them, or has access to this functionality. We use open data.
