Oostende & Compagnie is een artistieke trip door Oostende in het gezelschap van James Ensor, Léon Spilliaert, Hugo Claus, Leopold II, Henri Storck en Arno. De gids is Claude Blondeel. “Als kind bracht ik met mijn familie de vakantie door in Oostende. Op een regendag nam pépé me mee naar het Ensorhuis. Als jongeling slenterde ik ’s avonds door de Langestraat, staarde naar de cafés met de wilde jongens en de knappe meiden. Later bracht de rock-’n-roll ons samen. Arno vertelde me over Oostende, over al die personages die daar waren geweest: Permeke, Caruso, Einstein, Stefan Zweig, Marvin Gaye… “Check it out, mate.” En ik checkte, deed research, las en schreef Oostende & Compagnie, het boeiende verhaal van kunstenaars, piraten en groten der aarde die niet konden weerstaan aan de lokroep van de Koningin der Badsteden.”Er is ook deze podcast. Claude neemt je mee langs historische plekken in Oostende en vertelt verhalen over de belangrijkste figuren uit zijn boek. De podcast Oostende & Compagnie is gemaakt door Ronald Verhaegen.
