Veroordeeld
In ‘Veroordeeld’ gaan podcastmaker Lauren Fabels en strafrechtadvocaat Veerle Hammerstein in gesprek met mensen die zijn veroordeeld voor een misdrijf.
Geen mooie praatjes of verweren, maar het eerlijke verhaal achter het plegen van een strafbaar feit. Waarom neemt iemand die ene verkeerde afslag in zijn of haar leven? Hoe is het om in het verdachtenbankje in de rechtszaal te zitten? En blijft het stempel ‘veroordeeld’ altijd aan je plakken, ook als je je straf hebt uitgezeten?

We maken deze podcast omdat we de achtergrond van een strafbaar feit inzichtelijk willen maken. Daarbij willen wij graag benadrukken dat dit voor ons niets afdoet aan het leed dat bij slachtoffers of gedupeerden is veroorzaakt.

Over de makers:
Veerle Hammerstein is strafrechtadvocaat en partner bij Van Gessel Advocaten. Ze is sinds 2005 thuis in de rechtszaal en weet vaak met haar overtuigende pleidooien rechtbanken en hoven te verleiden om ‘het eens anders te doen’. Naast haar werk als advocaat is zij enige tijd actief geweest als rechter-plaatsvervanger. Veerle richt zich veelal op het commune strafrecht en dan met name de grotere geweldszaken.
Lauren Fabels is (misdaad)redacteur en podcastmaker. Ze bereidde de misdaaditems voor bij verschillende tv-talkshows waaronder M, Pauw en Op1. Nu is ze eindredacteur bij podcastbedrijf Corti Media, inhoudelijk verantwoordelijk voor o.a. de juridische podcast ‘Napleiten’.
