עבור הישראלים, תהליך אוסלו בשנות ה-90 וההתנתקות בשנת-2005 נתפסים כהוכחות שלא ניתן להגיע להסכם עם הפלסטינים, שמעולם לא ויתרו על שאיפתם להשמיד את ישראל. מנגד, הפלסטינים תופסים את האירועים האלה ככישלון שנבע מהרצון הישראלי להרחיב את ההתנחלויות בגדה ולמנוע הקמת מדינה פלסטינית. מי צודק? היסטוריון הסכסוך ד״ר ארנון דגני בוחן בעונה הראשונה את העובדות והאירועים שהובילו לתהליך אוסלו ולקריסתו, ובעונה השנייה את היחסים הסבוכים של ישראל עם עזה. מטרת ההסכת היא לבחון באופן מאוזן את האירועים שעיצבו את התודעה הפוליטית הישראלית בחצי יובל האחרון.
