Journalisten Peter Ullenbroeck, Pieter van den Akker en Fieke Nobel doken een jaar lang in het leven van de omstreden campingbaas Cees Engel. Zo ontstaat voor het eerst een compleet beeld van de camping. Wie was Cees Engel? Hoe kwam hij aan zijn bijnaam ‘krottenkoning’? En is het toeval dat zijn zoon Willem Engel voorman werd van het landelijke coronaprotest?
