1945 год. Союзные войска празднуют победу. Западная Европа строит послевоенный мир. В восточной части континента в это же время продолжается депортация сотен тысяч мужчин, женщин и детей. С 1939 по 1950-е годы жители Литвы, Латвии, Эстонии, Венгрии, Чехословакии, Украины, Польши, Румынии отправляются в советские лагеря и на спецпоселения. Для Западной Европы слово ГУЛАГ становится частью российской и советской истории, а для восточных европейцев — трагическим периодом своей собственной. «Европейские голоса ГУЛАГа» — история депортаций и депортированных.
