Le eroine della letteratura occidentale sono figure per lo più tragiche, non solo perché assumono su di sé i limiti e il peso della condizione umana, come i loro corrispettivi maschili, ma anche perché a differenza di questi ultimi le attende invariabilmente un destino luttuoso. Non potendo ambire a quello status di fondatrici di stirpi o vincitrici di guerre riservato alle figure maschili, la morte in scena sembra per loro l’unico modo per raggiungere la gloria.
Si tratta di una gabbia in cui si riflettono le convenzioni sociali che per secoli hanno relegato le donne al ruolo di madre, moglie o amante, e che nella morte, meglio se violenta, vedevano l’unica sublimazione possibile per il genere femminile. Questo podcast si propone di ripercorrere le vicende di alcuni di questi personaggi, immaginando una sorte diversa. Cosa sarebbe accaduto se a un certo punto del loro percorso avessero cambiato rotta e la morte non fosse più stata la conclusione ineluttabile?
