Esistono scoperte che fissano un prima e un dopo. Sono avanzamenti della conoscenza che accelerano il tempo e modificano il corso degli eventi. Le chiamano “General Purpose Technology”, abbreviato in GPT, e, in effetti, si tratta di tecnologie in grado di impattare radicalmente sui modi di produzione, di rovesciare i pregiudizi più intramontabili e, insomma, di cambiare il mondo.
