Den Røde Tråd er en podcastserie af journalist René Fredensborg om 5G, sikkerheds- og storpolitik mellem USA og Kina. Efter statsminister Mette Frederiksen har kategoriseret telekommunikation som kritisk infrastruktur, er den danske debat om Huaweis tilstedeværelse i Vesten blevet en varm kartoffel. Men er der hold i anklagerne om, at virksomheden skulle være ejet af den kinesiske stat? Spionerer de? Og hvorfor er valget af 5G-leverandører i Danmark omgivet af så meget polemik? Det har René Fredensborg sat sig for at undersøge. Podcasten er finansieret af Huawei – men bevæbnet med et frihedsbrev påberåber René sig journalistisk uafhængighed og manøvrefrihed til at undersøge sagen på sin helt egen måde.
