Willem was 13 toen hij zwaar mishandeld werd door een groep leeftijdsgenoten. Dertig jaar later gaat hij op onderzoek uit en zoekt hij contact met de betrokkenen van toen: de agent, de rechter, getuigen. Wat weten zij nog? Hij spreekt een socioloog over waarom groepen jongeren dit doen, een lotgenoot en haar vader over hun ervaring met ernstig geweld, rechters over wat zij zien in de rechtszaal en een journalist over hoe berichtgeving in de media door de jaren heen is veranderd. Weet hij uiteindelijk de daders te vinden? Willen ze met hem in gesprek? Waarom hebben ze dit eigenlijk gedaan en hebben ze spijt?
