Het bed van Willeke Dost is leeg op de ochtend van 15 januari 1992. En haar bed blijft leeg. Ze verdwijnt. Spoorloos. Zelfs na na 30 jaar is het nog altijd een raadsel wat er met het vijftienjarige meisje uit Koekange is gebeurd. Er is geen lichaam, geen bewijs, geen spoor, geen motief en geen teken van leven.</p><p>Hoe kan dat toch? Hoe kan iemand zomaar spoorloos verdwijnen? In Het Verdwenen Meisje houdt Annique Oosting, journalist bij Dagblad van het Noorden, het dossier nogmaals tegen het licht. Centrale vraag is: hoe kan het dat we drie decennia later nog steeds bijna niets weten?</p><p>Annique spreekt met mensen die haar kenden, onderzoekers, deskundigen, het openbaar ministerie en zorgprofessionals die zich om haar bekommerden. We vragen ze wie Willeke was, of de politie fouten maakte in het onderzoek en of er iets klopt van alle geruchten over het pleeggezin waar ze woonde.</p><p>We doorlopen scenario’s over wat er gebeurd kan zijn en focussen op Willeke zelf.
