Mark Beekhuis en Ben van der Burg gaan wekelijks in gesprek met spraakmakende experts over technologische ontwikkelingen en de impact op onze samenleving.
Technologie is overal. In onze broekzak, om ons heen en soms zelfs op ons hoofd. De Technoloog duikt iedere week in een nieuw aspect van deze eeuwig fascinerende wereld. De Technoloog schuwt geen enkel onderwerp. Van AI naar ruimtevaart, van chips naar het metaverse en van mobiele telefonie naar ICT-recht. Hoe veranderen nieuwe regels de technologische wereld om ons heen? En zijn die regels wel effectief? Technologie is niet neutraal. Een groot deel van de gadgets, software en andere toepassingen die we in Europa gebruiken komt ofwel uit de Verenigde Staten ofwel uit China. En dat is een probleem, weet ook de Europese Unie. Lukt het ons continent om een voet tussen de deur te krijgen en bijvoorbeeld te werken aan eigen oplossingen voor de cloud, chips of andere technologie?
En wat gaat technologie doen met onze manier van werken? Bijvoorbeeld door digitale transformatie, waarbij we op veel meer professionele manieren gebruik kunnen maken van technologie. Of verplaatsen we ons steeds meer naar spatial computing, waar bedrijven als Apple (met de Vision Pro) en Meta (met hun Quest-lijn) van dromen?
In De Technoloog gaan we iedere week in gesprek met experts in de wereld van technologie. In een nieuwsgierig gesprek van een uur krijgt de luisteraar wekelijks een mini-college over het desbetreffende onderwerp. De presentatoren proberen, samen met de luisteraar, nieuwe dingen te leren over technologie en innovatie.
Over de podcast
Herbert Blankesteijn en Ben van der Burg bedachten De Technoloog na een uitzending van een ander programma: BNR Digitaal. Herbert wilde, samen met Ben, langer en uitgebreider doorpraten over technologie, zonder de restricties van een radioformat. De Technoloog werd geboren.
Na een jarenlange samenwerking besloot Herbert het presentatiestokje door te geven aan Mark Beekhuis. Mark is per 1 september 2024 de nieuwe presentator.
Het team
Mark Beekhuis (1969) is presentator, journalist, radio- en podcastmaker met een focus op wetenschap, politiek en technologie. Hij won de eerste Dutch Podcast Award in de categorie Nieuws met Newsroom Den Haag en maakte de afgelopen jaren onder meer de serie De Kwestie Wolf en de Nieuws Top 150. Daarnaast presenteert hij wekelijks de podcasts Studio Den Haag en De Technoloog. Ook kun je hem kennen van zijn vele bijdrages op BNR Nieuwsradio.
Ben van der Burg (1968) is presentator en tech commentator. Buiten het winnen van de eerste Dutch Podcast Award in de categorie Technologie won hij nooit iets, hij werd altijd tweede. Naast de Technoloog presenteert hij De Grote Tech Show op BNR en je kent hem wellicht van media bijdrages op BNR Nieuwsradio of TV.
Rosanne Peters is redacteur van De Technoloog. Sinds 2025 doet ze de redactie van zowel De Technoloog als De Grote Tech Show en is zij te horen in de Tech Update tijdens De Ochtend- en Avondspits.
Daniël Mol is redacteur van De Technoloog. Hij voegde zich in 2021 bij het team en is ook redacteur van de Cryptocast en De Grote Tech Show.
