Det bjuds på underhållning, vardagslivsberättelser, folkbildning, vanvettiga skratt och – inte minst – initierade samtal om mat och dryck på detta barockt dignande smörgåsbord, uppdukat av gastronomerna Edward Blom och Mats Ryd. Edward Blom har under de senaste åren blivit populär, för att inte säga folkkär, för sin öppna personlighet, livsglädje och smittande entusiasm, särskilt när det handlar om mat-, restaurang- och kulturhistoria. Här sekunderas han av Mats Ryd, som är kommunikatör inom mat och dryck – men framför allt en person närmast besatt av att dricka fantastiska viner och äta utvalda delikatesser. Han talar lika lågmält och långsamt som Edward yvigt och snabbt.Tillsammans bjuder de på massor av kunskap samt berättelser, reseminnen och anekdoter från sina liv som gourmeter, präglat av rejäla doser alkoholromantik. Edward Bloms smörgåsbord innehåller även stora portioner kulturhistoria, etikett och poesi. Ibland dyker podden upp på diverse krogar på sta’n. Då det kan bli väldigt uppsluppet, utan att de båda gastronomerna ändå helt tappar konceptet eller trasslar in sig i hörlurstrådarna.Podden har fått en dedikerad lyssnarskara, av vilka många säger sig ha lyssnat flera gånger på varje avsnitt!
