A true crime podcast from Kristen Pflum
Alex Johnson had it all. He was brilliant, an avid outdoorsman, a talented chef, artist and botanist with friends all over the world. In 2013, days shy of his 33rd birthday, Johnson vanished after wrapping up a phone call with his girlfriend.
For more than a month, the Johnson family did everything to try and find him. They held vigils, organized searches, brought in specialized K-9's and put up billboards.
But Alex was dead. Beaten in the back of a Mercedes Benz, his body put in a barrel and rolled into a frigid Kentucky river. And one of his best friends named the prime suspect.

Stats: Statistics are produced by Anchor to help Taking Alex to understand how many downloads it is getting, or how many people are listening. Your device’s IP address and user agent is used to help calculate this figure. Anchor is IAB v2 certified.
Dynamic content insertion: Anchor may use limited data that they know about you - the device you’re using, the approximate location you’re in, or other data that can be derived from this, like the current weather forecast for your area - to change parts of the audio. Taking Alex may do this for advertising or for other forms of content, like news stories.
Taking Alex is able to use the above tools since its podcast host or measurement company offers this service. It doesn’t mean that this individual podcast uses them, or has access to this functionality. We use open data.
