Die Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg besitzt einen Kunstschatz, um den sie viele Museen auf der ganzen Welt beneiden dürften: knapp 7.000 Handzeichnungen, Kupferstiche, Radierungen und Holzschnitte aus dem 14. bis 18. Jahrhundert. Besonders die Zeichnungen aus dem 14. und 15. Jahrhundert sind eine Rarität. Eine Gruppe von Erlanger Kunsthistorikern um Prof. Dr. Hans Dickel hat diese Zeichnungen in einem Forschungsprojekt untersucht.
