Im Spannungsfeld von Kunst, Technologie und Aesthetik eröffnet Medienkunst überraschende Perspektiven. Sie erprobt neuartige künstlerische Aktions- und Reflexionsräume. Das Studium in Medienkunst vermittelt ästhetisches wie technisches, theoretisches wie praktisches Können für Kunstwerke im realen und virtuellen Raum.
Am Anfang steht das individuelle inhaltliche Interesse. Im Laufe des Arbeitsprozesses werden künstlerische Umsetzungsstrategien geprüft und erprobt. Die Studierenden arbeiten mit Hardware, Software und Mediensystemen. Sie entwickeln individuelle künstlerische Positionen. Sie reflektieren ihre Arbeiten vor dem Hintergrund aktueller gesellschaftlicher Zusammenhänge im Kontext von Kunst und Kultur. Sie bewegen sich an Orten der Kunst, wo gesellschaftliche Fragen neu verhandelt werden.
