Leysa wil dolgraag de Grobbendonkse natuur verkennen. Maar haar vader, ridder Nicolaas, houdt haar al jaren met veel liefde en evenveel renovatiesmoesjes, binnen de muren van zijn vervallen kasteel. Tot Bever Bas zich een weg door het kasteelhout knaagt en Leysa de weg wijst naar een geheime gang van verlangen die zich onder het kasteel bevindt. Zou dat haar weg naar buiten kunnen zijn?
