Cool Cat launched in a series in 2017. It was on iTunes, Amazon, and Spotify etc with Celtic Cat (2015) and Papa’s Photo (single 2018) until the distributor closed shop in 2024.
I am an a Capella singer/songwriter with the good fortune of being produced by Chris Birkett. I compose lyrics and melody together. percolating away in my head until ready to be vocalized. I sang my songs during years as a storyteller, teacher and school librarian. Now I am focused on bringing my songs and poetry to the public, I write in many genres from Celtic folksongs through jazz to rock and rap. The first recording with Chris Birkett was On The Water, which resulted in my first Catherine M Thompson Song Project: Celtic Cat, featuring Emily Brady, Matt Gerber, Ian Harper, and Chris Weatherstone. Cool Cat, our 2017 release, is a jazz collection with Catherine M Thompson on lead vocals, featuring Allister Bradley, Jared Goldman, Malcolm Connor, Chris Weatherstone along with special guests Chris Birkett, Mike Eckert, Jeremy Edwardes, Nathan Hiltz, Shannon Rozsell, and Erin Norah Thompson. I guess I should get my rock album Wild Cat onto SoundCloud. Those 10 songs are on Spotify and Apple Music. Enjoy!
