Composer/ Orchestrator/ Arranger/ Educator

I was born and raised in Russia before moving to Israel, where I lived for a few years. Since 2015, I have been residing and working in Boston, Massachusetts.

My first composition dates back to when I was 10 years old. I set a Russian poem about a toothache from a teen magazine to music, and I still remember its catchy chorus. At 14, I began taking formal music composition classes. I received classical training in composition and orchestration under Professor Alexey Larin at the Russian Gnessin Academy of Music in Moscow.

Over my 20-year career, I have composed music for symphony orchestras, chamber instrumental and vocal compositions, theater productions, media background tracks, and audiobooks. Children’s music holds a special place in my heart and work.

When my daughter was born, it became evident that I had a perfect muse for composing children’s music. She is both my personal listener and critic, and she has become the first performer of most of my children’s songs. She now performs the majority of my vocal compositions as well.

I have collaborated with Moscow audiobook publishers “Ardisbook” and “IDDK,” composing music for popular children’s audiobook series such as “The Adventures of Dunno and His Friends” by N. Nosov, “The Golden Key, or the Adventures of Buratino” by A. Tolstoy, and Lewis Carroll’s “Alice in Wonderland” and “Alice Through the Looking-Glass.” In 2015, I produced my own audiobook, “Summer is Near at Hand,” featuring poems and songs for children, for which I also composed all the music.

In recent years, I have closely worked with theaters on musicals. Boston locals with children may recognize my music from the musicals ‘Puss in Boots,’ ‘Thumbelina,’ and ‘Baba Yaga’s Birthday’ at the “Theater on the Roof” in Needham, Massachusetts. I have received multiple Russian awards, including the Russian Performing Art Foundation’s special prize and the Dennis Shapovalov cellist competition’s top honor.
